“I was referred to Francis by my fertility clinic in the hopes that acupuncture could improve my chances of conceiveing through IUI. I have a lifelong fear of needles, and as a rule, I am moderately skeptical of “alternative” medicine. Nonetheless, I was willing to try anything that might help. I became successfully pregnant on my second full cycle with Francis and will welcome my first child in spring 2009.
From my first visit with Francis, I felt that the treatments were helping. The treatments made me feel completely relaxed and balanced. The proof of the effectiveness was in the fact that while the drugs had previously caused my lining to thin out to 5mm, after the acupuncture treatments my lining remained above 7mm, which was ideal for implantation.
I recommend Francis to anyone who is hoping to conceive, regardless of whether they are undergoing fertility treatments. He is understanding and professional, and at no time did I feel like I was being taken advantage of. At that point, I would have gone in every day of my cycle if he told me it would help, but Francis was always very straightforward about what he really thought would help, and he only had me come in on the days in my cycle when he thought it would benefit me. “I would honestly say I do not consider myself to be the most “holistic” or “natural” person by nature. That stated I’ve undergone IVF twice, when faced with known fertility issues, and each time I have chosen to work with a Chinese medicine doctor in order to take all actions to increase my odds of success. I actually went to a different clinic during my first round of IVF and met Dr. Rock after being referred to him in a time that my existing Chinese medicine doctor was not available. I was extremely impressed by Dr. Rock’s ease of treatment and relaxed environment. When it was time to try for my second child I went directly to the Akuklinik clinic for my treatment. I discovered during my first experience with IVF that I am extremely sensitive to fertility drugs and am prone to a condition called hyperstimulation, which can both be very uncomfortable and dangerous to your health. I truly feel the treatments I received from Dr. Rock helped me to ensure a more positive outcome the second time around. Currently I’m one week away from delivering my second baby and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve referred Dr. Rock and the Akuklinik clinic to several people and some choose to take advantage of these specialized resources and some have stubbornly refused to open their eyes to the benefits that exist from these treatments. I have had 2 healthy pregnancies and to date one healthy child with hopefully another on the way next week! That’s not to say I have experienced my own challenges and difficulties with the fertility process and treatment. Dr. Rock really knows his stuff and makes you feel comfortable! My husband and I were trying for about 4 months to have a baby and I was spotting before my periods and feared that I may have a luteal phase defect. Just after 2 months of seeing Dr.Rock and having acupuncture weekly and taking herbs, my spotting subsided and I got pregnant the 3rd month!
